Position Description

This role is quality-focused and fast paced. As a valued member of our team as a technician responsible for routine maintenance, tires and alignments, you will efficiently perform routine fluid maintenance, tire and alignment services, uphold the high standards of excellence that our customers have come to expect, and learn alongside our experienced technicians assisting with higher level repairs.

Salary: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour, Depending on Experience

Duties & Responsibilities (Including but not Limited To)

The primary responsibilities of this position are to:

  • efficiently perform routine fluid maintenance services
  • efficiently perform 4-wheel alignments
  • efficiently mount and balance tires and perform tire inspections and repairs
  • perform minor repairs according to manufacturer guidelines
  • perform detailed digital vehicle inspections and recommend services needed to correct known vehicle issues
  • adequately document needed repairs and work performed on customer work orders and/or inspection checklists, attaching pictures when appropriate and recording time spent
  • road test vehicles as needed to ensure quality of repairs where appropriate
  • participate in training sessions and certification activities to stay abreast of rapidly changing automotive design and technology
  • assist and learn from fellow technicians as needed
  • communicate effectively with the service advisor to explain required repairs in a non-technical manner
  • maintain a clean and organized shop and assist with general shop upkeep
  • adhere to all company policies, procedures and safety protocols


Expected hours: No less than 40 per week, Saturday or Sunday/Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday hours required

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will be a motivated, energetic and customer-focused team player with:

  • a valid driver’s license
  • a clean driving record (no DUIs/DWIs/reckless driving charges)
  • authorization to work in the United States
  • an interest in continuous learning and improvement
  • ability to work independently in a busy shop setting
  • the ability to learn and work as part of a team to assist in performing complex technical repairs when appropriate
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • the ability to successfully complete and pass a background check
  • excellent attention to detail
  • integrity and good work ethic
  • ability to reliably commute to Columbia, MD 21045 before starting work


Additional consideration will be given to candidates with any of the following:

  • successful completion of a formal technical training program
  • current ASE certifications
  • experience with automotive diagnostic and repair software


Physical Demands

This job regularly entails:

  • lifting up to 50 pounds without assistance
  • standing, squatting, stooping and kneeling for long periods of time
  • frequent twisting and bending
  • frequent reaching overhead and below the knees
  • frequent data entry and data lookup on a computer or electronic hand-held device
  • frequent reading of small print
  • frequent operation of a motor vehicle
  • frequent talking and hearing
